Wider Curriculum

Giving our pupils a broad and balanced curriculum that enriches 'Cultural Capital' is central to all that we do at St Clare's.

We have half-termly theme weeks to ensure our pupils receive a diet of stimulating and enriching activities.

Autumn 1 Multi Faith Week

Autumn 2 Christmas Week

Spring 1 Reading enrichment Week

Spring 2 Holy Week

Summer 1 Health Week

Summer 2 Performing Arts Week

We create a portfolio/displays for each theme week and hold performance assemblies where each class/year group's work is shared and celebrated.

In Year 4 Heather Peak Morison has worked with us through ' Creative Civic Change' to create a creative, stimulating and challenging wider curriculum (history, geography, DT and art). Each term includes a ‘Wow!’ experience e.g. Y4 visit to Tamworth Castle linked to their Normans and Tudors work in History and a visit to LEGOLAND Discovery to develop and enhance work on 'Robots' linked to our Iron Man theme.

Please have a look at Helen Peak Morison's work below and visit her website at: www.morison.info. We look forward to adding the work of our Y4 pupils as the project progresses.

We also have work linked to our performing arts week which culminated in a assembly displaying our wonderful achievements in dance, poetry and drama. Please have a look at our latest work during Performing Arts Week.

We are excited to announce, that we have further improved our School Sporting Curriculum with a brand new MUGA.

Our new Multi Use Games Area is an enclosed sports surface with sporting markings.

The children now have a fantastic dedicated zone to practice and develop their technique, fundamental movement skills and cardiovascular fitness. Along with gaining a love for sport and learning to lead a healthy life style.

We worked with Pentagon Play on this project and we highly recommend them to any school looking to develop their outdoor area.
