MISSION STATEMENT

We welcome everyone into our community in order to live, love and learn together in the light and example of the life of Christ

A reminder for parent/carers enquiring about Reception Class Admissions for September 2020 that Parent/carers can apply online until 15 January 2020 to submit your application. Parents/carers and family of our nursery and reception children are warmly invited to our Nativity on Monday 16th December from 9.00am. Please note that we have now confirmed our final two Teacher Education Days, they are Thursday 30th and Friday 31st January. Thank you to the many parents who were able to attend our Reading Inspire Workshops, the feedback has been very positive and we are scheduling Maths Workshops for the Spring Term. Please look at our calendar for important upcoming events. You can access diary events on our app by clicking on calendars and on the dot under the date for further information. School Council

Our school council aims to be the voice of the children about things that matter to them.  It is made up of one child from each class; from year one classes through to year six and a further two year six children who represent each of the Reception classes.  The council is supported by our school Learning Mentor, Mr Hepburn.  Pictures of council members are displayed at the front of the school so that all the children, parents and staff know who they are.  Members serve on the council for the whole of the academic year and really enjoy their time on the council. 

 

Some of the initiatives and activities that the School council have been involved in include:

  • Finding ideas and suggestions from the children for our playgrounds
  • Send representatives to the Handsworth YPP (Young Peoples’ Parliament)
  • Environmental projects/forums
  • Being involved in showing prospective parents around our school
  • Being involved in the interview process for new members of staff
  • Visits to other schools
